Senior Civil Engineer

True Inspection Services (TIS) currently has a great career opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing team and help us expand into design engineering. TIS was established in 2008 and is a minority-owned engineering and inspection company providing services in commercial, government, aviation, and industrial projects.

Job Description

Provide guidance and technical oversight to junior engineers and other technical staff remotely
Communicate with partnering engineering firms
Assist in expanding design/engineer office
Recruit technical staff


Qualifications

BA in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited)
Ohio PE License & NCEES certified
10 plus years of experience in the Site and Highway design industry with a focus on transportation engineering.
Experience mentoring and providing oversight of work performed by junior engineers and/or other technical professionals
Knowledge of ODOT specifications, submittals, permitting and environmental requirements are desired.
Roadway, drainage and MOT experience for ODOT and municipal/county projects desired.
Strong CAD capabilities with experience in one or more of the following: MicroStation, Geopark, Civil 3D and ArcGIS
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with other staff.

BRIDGE COATING INSPECTORS

ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation)

True Inspection Services is looking to hire NACE certified Bridge Coating Inspectors with ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation) experience. Projects are located throughout the state of Ohio.

Job Description

Bridge Coatings Inspectors will be responsible for the daily inspection of coatings work on bridges to ensure each project is in compliance with plans and specifications. Must be able to provide solutions to issues that come up on the project and its required to document work daily.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working on ODOT inspection projects
  • NACE Coatings Inspector – Level I, II or III
  • ODOT Work Type 57 (Sealing of Concrete Surfaces)
  • ODOT Work Type 26 (Structural Steel Painting)
  • Valid Ohio’s drivers license & good driving record required
  • Pass a pre-employment substance abuse test & background test
  • Ability to read & interpret construction drawings & specifications
  • Proficient computer skills (Word & Excel)
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Capable of effectively working with project team members
  • Willing to further education/certifications/experience

CONSTRUCTION INSPECTORS

True Inspection Services is hiring experienced Project Inspectors for heavy highway & structural projects statewide!

Job Description

TIS Project Inspectors perform inspection services for state, city and county bridge & roadway projects.

Responsibilities include:

Inspecting highway and bridge projects to ensure contractor compliance with ODOT plans & specifications.
Reinforcing & monitoring quality standards, reading blueprints, and completing work on a variety of construction project types.
Notifying the Contractor/Project Engineer about non-conforming work.
Completing Daily reports.

Qualifications

  • Two years of transportation construction inspection experience (ODOT experience preferred)
  • NICET Highway Construction Level I or II
  • Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management or degrees that exceed these requirements (Example: Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering)
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing
  • Ohio Aggregate Technician
  • ODOT Flexible Pavement
  • ODOT Traffic Work Zone
