Overview of Projects
Our goal at TIS is to be recognized on a national level for our culture of respect and expertise. It is our goal to attract and retain the most qualified personnel for each project.
As proud as we are of our employees, we believe it is only appropriate to recognize the labor and efforts of past experiences of TIS associates working with and for other organizations. This photo gallery represents a cursory overview of past work our associates have performed.
Past Projects
Ohio Department of Transportation District 12
True Inspection Services (TIS) provided full-time project management, construction and coatings inspection services for bridge and construction painting projects throughout the district. Services were performed at various sites filling the following roles:
- TIS was a sub-consultant providing construction and painting inspectors for ODOT, District 12.
- Inspection and documentation in accordance with ODOT's Construction and Material Specifications procedures and requirements.
- Monitored construction and painting contractors on a full-time basis and advised the project engineer of materials compliance.
- Kept the project supervision informed as to whether or not the contractor is following acceptable construction methods.
- Completed daily reports (CMS-1)
- Assisted the project engineers with pay estimates.
Ohio Department of Transportation - St. Lawrence Drive Relocation
True Inspections Services (TIS) was the Resident Project Representative (RPR). An RPR performs the following on-site services:
- Inspections to insure the Contractors compliance to all Plans, Plans changes, Specifications and Special Provisions.
- Supervision of other construction inspectors and testing technicians and preparing daily reports.
- Tracks daily quantities in order to review contractors pay requests.
- Tracks Shop Drawings, RFI's, and Submittals required for the Project Records.
- Collects all delivery tickets and requisite certification of materials documents, and measures all quantities with the Contractors Superintendent and Foreman on a daily basis.
- Performs quality control and quality assurance inspections of construction items and material placements, verifying that all materials are placed in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Completes Reference Item pay documents and reviews all estimates from the Contractor to check that all quantities submitted for payment are correct and as reported in the Project Records.
- Maintains the Project Records and compiles all relevant documents.
- Maintains Force Account records for time and materials to avoid disputes where a unit price cannot be negotiated in advance of extra work to be done.
- Conducts Progress Meetings, maintains meeting agendas and meeting minutes which are then made a part of the Project Records.
Ohio Department of Transportation - Norfolk Southern Bridge
TIS is a sub-consultant to GPI, providing full-time construction observation, inspection and documentation services for work performed on a federal ARRA funded project. Services include the following:
- Construction observation, lead abatement inspection and coating inspection services for ORDC.
- Construction monitoring and documentation in accordance with ODOT's Construction and Material Specifications procedures and requirements.
- Daily recording of activities of Norfolk Southern workers and their contractors as they modify steel bridge trusses to create clearance for Norfolk Southern to run double stack container cars.
- Records are kept of personnel on site, equipment and procedures used, and progress made.
- Verification that work is performed in accordance to the project plans and that lead abatement and painting is performed according to industry standards.
- Photographic records are kept on a daily basis and reports are sent weekly to the ORDC.
Urbana Conference Center
Project was for the construction of a new 20,000 square-foot assembly building in Champaign County, Ohio. Project cost was $1.6 million. True Inspection Services performed third party quality control inspections for roofing operation and site development inspections. True Inspection Services also provided the following:
- Overall management of the project.
- Soliciting bids from sub-contractors and suppliers
- Ensuring work was proceeding per plans.
- Negotiating design changes.
Ohio Department of Transportation - Norfolk Southern Rail
TIS is a sub-consultant to GPI, providing full-time construction observation, inspection and documentation services for work performed on a federal ARRA funded project. Services include the following:
- Construction observation, inspection and daily recording of activities during the clearing, undercutting and resurfacing of track at two bridge locations in order to be able to run double stack container cars.
- Construction monitoring and documentation in accordance with ODOT's standard procedures and requirements.
- Records are kept of personnel on site, equipment and procedures used, and progress made.
- Verification that work is performed in accordance to the project plans and that lead abatement and painting is performed according to industry standards.
- Photographic records are kept on a daily basis and reports are sent weekly to the ORDC.
